BELLEVUE, Wash. – With win No. 32 on the season, a 4-2 victory vs. Northern Colorado (15-28, 10-9 WAC), Seattle University baseball (32-18, 18-5 WAC) surpassed their win total from a season ago, setting a new single season program wins record.

Seattle U took an early 2-0 lead in the third as Sheldon Stober (Kent, Wash.) and Sean Sutton (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) hit back-to-back RBI singles to bring home Griffin Andreychuk (Nanaimo, B.C., Canada) and Dalton Hurd (Bend, Ore.).

Andreychuk gave the Redhawks a 3-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI single up the middle as Kyler Murphy (Peoria, Ariz.) scored and they would lead 4-0 after six innings as Murphy scored on a sac fly.

Northern Colorado was able to score two in the top of the seventh on back-to-back hits, the first a Brett Minnick RBI triple just before a Rob Cashel RBI single up the middle, but it would be as close as they’d come.

On the mound, Nick Meservey (Scottsdale, Ariz.) improved to 6-2 while Zach Wolf (Dana Hills, Calif.) picked up his team-leading 10th save of the season. Andreychuk led the Redhawks at the plate, batting 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

Seattle U closes the home season on Sunday as they honor their senior class prior to a 12 noon first pitch vs. Northern Colorado. The Redhawks look for the series sweep vs. the Bears.
