Seattle University baseball (28-16) scored four late runs to tie the game, sending it to extra innings, but ultimately fell, 5-4, in the 11th inning on a walk-off to No. 11/12 Oregon State (29-12).

Seattle U left a runner in scoring position in the first and second innings but allowed Oregon State to score four runs in the fourth on back-to-back doubles by Cadyn Grenier and Christian Donahue.

In the fifth, Lucas Denney (Goldendale, Wash.) once again gave the Redhawks a runner in scoring position, forcing a OSU pitching change but the Beavers would remain ahead 4-0 heading into the seventh.

The Redhawks cut the Oregon State lead in half, 4-2, in the seventh on back-to-back Jack Reisinger (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and Curtis Perrin (Vancouver, Wash.) RBI singles, sandwiching a OSU pitching change. Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.) led off the eighth with a solo home run on the first pitch he faced before Griffin Andreychuk (Nanaimo, B.C., Canada) drove in Kyler Murphy (Peoria, Ariz.) for the tying run in the ninth on an RBI single up the middle.

The Beavers were unable to score in the bottom of the ninth, forcing extra innings, and despite the Redhawks leaving three runners on base between the 10th and 11th innings, Logan Ice doubled home Nick Madrigal for the two-out walk-off winner.

The Western Athletic Conference-leading Redhawks head to NM State for a key three-game conference series this weekend. Friday’s first pitch is set for 5 p.m. PT while Saturday will start at 12 noon PT and Sunday at 10 a.m. PT. Friday’s contest will be on the WAC Digital Network (www.wacsports.com/live) as well as ESPN3.
