Seattle University baseball (25-15) tied the game midway through the contest but two late runs for the Huskies gave Washington (23-14) the 3-1 win in a non-conference midweek game.

UW took the early lead as Joey Morgan scored on a sac fly in the second and Seattle U would tie it, 1-1, on a two-out Jack Reisinger (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) single, but the Redhawks left the bases loaded in the fifth. Jeffrey Morgan (Auburn, Wash.) scored the tying run after reaching base on the first of four singles in the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, Morgan hit an outfield single with two outs to give the Huskies the 2-1 lead and UW plated a run in the seventh to take a 3-1 lead as John Naff scored on a KJ Brady squeeze.

Jake Prizina (Sparks, Nev.) got his second career start on the bump for SU, dropping to 1-1 on the season, while Alex Nesbitt picked up the win for the Dawgs.

At the plate, Morgan and Dalton Hurd (Bend, Ore.) led the Redhawks, going 2-for-4 each, the two teams even in hits (6).

The Redhawks return to their home ballpark to host UT Rio Grande Valley in a three-game Western Athletic Conference series this weekend. First pitch between SU and UTRGV is set for 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue while Sunday’s first pitch is scheduled for 12 noon.
