As the only yet undefeated team in Western Athletic Conference play coming into the day, Seattle University baseball (20-10, 8-1 WAC) allowed North Dakota (6-17, 3-6 WAC) two large innings in a 15-2 loss.

UND took a 6-0 lead through the first inning, four of which came with two outs, before extending their lead to 14-2 with eight in the bottom of the third. The Redhawks got on the board in the third on a bases loaded walk and a Lucas Denney (Goldendale, Wash.) sacrifice fly, but North Dakota would tack on one more in the fourth on a Brett Harrison RBI double.

At the plate, Sean Sutton (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) was a perfect 3-for-3, collecting three of the Redhawks’ six hits on the day.

On the mound, Luke Hansen picked up the win for North Dakota while Tarik Skubal (Kingman, Ariz.) suffered his first loss of the season.

Seattle U returns home for a busy week in the Emerald City in which they will play five games, four at home. The Redhawks head just north for a non-conference contest at Washington on Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 5 pm before returning home to host Corban University on Wednesday at 5 pm. The Redhawks host Grand Canyon for a three-game WAC series Friday-Sunday.
