After finding themselves down 3-0 to Portland (13-12) early in the game, Seattle University baseball (15-9) used a balanced attack to tie the game midway through and earn a 4-3 victory in 10 innings.

Portland scored three runs, all unearned, in the first two innings, including two in the second on a pair of hits.

Seattle U scored a run apiece in the second and third to pull within one, 3-2, on a Max Modeste (Roseville, Calif.) double and Sean Sutton (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) single before Sutton scored the tying run on a Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.) double through the right side in the fifth. The Redhawks left two on base to end the inning and left Dalton Hurd (Bend, Ore.) stranded on third to end the sixth, also leaving two runners on base to end regulation.

A three-and-out for the Pilots in the top of the 10th set up the Redhawk rally and after a pair of outs in the first two to bat, three straight hits ended with a Michael McCann (Vancouver, Wash.) RBI single through the right side, bringing home Hurd for the walk-off winner.

Connor Moore (West Richland, Wash.) picked up his first win of the season in relief, facing the final three batters, while Cameron Richman was handed the loss, pitching the final 2 2/3 innings for Portland.

The Redhawks head to Chicago State for a three game Western Athletic Conference series this weekend, facing the Cougars on Friday, Apr. 1 (1 pm PT), Saturday, Apr. 2 (1 pm PT), and Sunday, Apr. 3 (10 am PT). SU returns home for a three-game series vs. Grand Canyon starting on Friday, Apr. 15 after a three-game series at North Dakota (Apr. 8-10) and a game at Washington (Apr. 12).
