2018-19: 

Third playing season for SU… appeared in 24 games, started in 16 of those games… was named to the Preseason All-WAC First Team… season-high in points (26) came against Omaha (Dec. 6)…. had three games with 20 or more points… had double-double (22 points, 13 rebounds) vs Longwood (Nov. 25) … was averaging 14.1 pts and 6.3 rebounds before his injury in January, which sidelined him for a month and played limited minutes the rest of the season… finished out the season with a strong performance in the CIT game versus Presbyterian (Mar. 20) despite limited minutes - 19 minutes played, 11 points, 4-7 from the field, 2-3 from 3-point range and five rebounds.

2017-18: Second Team All-WAC... Preseason Second Team All-WAC...Western Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3... played in 33 total games, earning 31 starts... was the Redhawks' leading scorer fo the season at 15.2 points per game... also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 31.5 minutes per game... led the team in scoring 11 times... scored in double-figures 28 times... scored 20 points or more nine times... career-high 27 points came just four games into the season versus Detroit Mercy (Nov. 18)... had 25 points at Washington (Nov. 24) and 24 points versus Idaho State (Nov. 27)... scored 26 points versus Eastern Washington (Dec. 3)... had back-to-back 20-point games against Cal (Dec. 19) and Nicholls State (Dec. 23)... had a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double versus Kansas City (Jan. 13)... closed out the season with 21 points versus Central Arkansas (Mar. 14)... led the WAC with 91 three-pointers... had four or more threes 12 times... went 7-for-9 from three versus Detroit Mercy (Nov. 18)... finished the year ranked eighth in the nation hitting 46.4 percent from three...

2016-17: WAC Freshman of the Year... WAC All-Freshman Team... appeared in 27 of the Redhawks' 30 games during his redshirt freshman campaign... saw limited action early in the season, but became a consistent offensive force during WAC play... for the season, he averaged 8.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game... in WAC play, he averaged 11.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 26.6 minutes per game... was the team's third leading scorer during WAC play... scored in double-figures 13 times and led the team in scoring seven times... was a bright spot with 11 points in a loss at Notre Dame (Nov. 16)... scored 13 points against Great Falls (Dec. 10) and 10 points versus Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 15)... started WAC play with 13 points at CSU Bakersfield (Jan. 7)... that began a stretch of five straight games with double-figure scoring... poured in a career-high 24 points against Chicago State (Jan. 14)... shot 8-for-13 from the field, including 4-of-7 from three, and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the game... was third on the team in three-pointers made (42) and fourth in total field goals (81)... shot 43.8 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from three for the season... 

2015-16: Kavas suffered a torn ACL late in the summer and was forced to miss the entire season.

Europe: Kavas was chosen for the both the U16 and U18 national teams in Slovenia... averaged 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game at the 2012 U16 European Championships as well as 13.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game at the 2014 U18 European Championships...

Personal: Matej Kavas is from Ljubljana, Slovenia and has an older brother (Andraz) who plays professionally overseas... a business management major at Seattle University...
