2016-17: Put up fourth-fastest 100 backstroke time in school history with a 57.56 to lead off the 400 medley relay (Dec. 2)...recorded seventh-best 200 backstroke (2:07.48) time in SU annals (Dec. 4)...anchored 400 freestyle relay that tallied eighth-best time in school history, helping the group swim a 3:33.54 (Dec. 4)...anchored 800 freestyle relat that touched in 7:35.62, good for fourth-fastest showing in program history (Dec. 3)...led off 400 medley relay (Dec. 2) that posted third-best time in school annals (3:48.76)...started 200 medley relay that claimed a 1:47.34-the eighth-fastest time in SU history (Nov. 5).
High School: Salopek graduated from Miss Porters School, where she holds the school record in the 100 backstroke. In 2014, she won the league championship in the 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle, and 200 individual medley, plus she finished in the top three in the 200 freestyle at the New England Prep School Swimming Association Championship.
Club: Growing up in New Mexico, Salopek participated with the Las Cruces Aquatic Team for six years before joining the West Hartford Aquatic Team upon moving to Connecticut. She competed in the long course competition of the Speedo Sectionals in Oregon in both 2013 and 2014.
Personal: Salopek is the daughter of Diana Salopek, and she has five younger siblings: Bakir Redzapegic, Amar Redzapegic, Hiljmo Redzapegic, Yunis Redzapegic, and Yusif Rezapegic. Three members of her family swam collegiately: Dave (New Mexico State), Marion (LSU), and Sheila (Vanderbilt). She is currently a pre-major.
