High School: Stein was an All-District and All-State performer in both cross country and track and field at Woodrow Wilson High School. She set the school record in the 5000 meter run, was a two-time team MVP for cross country as well as the team MVP for track and field in 2015. She ran as a member of Team Oregon in Borderclash 16 and Borderclash 15.

Personal: Stein is the oldest daughter of Joan and David Stein, and she has a younger sister named Eleanor. She has earned over 450 hours of community service at the Oregon Zoo, Good Samaritan Hospital and the Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children.
