Bio

 

2014-15: At Husky Invitational 12/5-12/7, posted season-best times in 50 freestyle (21.54), 100 freestyle (47.96), and 200 freestyle (1:43.46).

High School: Wertz won the Washington state title in the 200 freestyle in the winter of 2014 and holds six school records at Hanford High School. A four-time all-conference honoree, Wertz was named team MVP in four straight seasons and conference MVP in his junior and senior years.

Club: Wertz has swum for the Tri-City Channel Cats for 11 years, reaching the senior sectional finals in 2013 and the junior national finals in 2014.

Personal: Wertz is the youngest son of Doug and Joan Wertz with three older siblings: Ben, Maggie, and Joe, who co-holds the school record in the 100 backstroke. Wertz plans to major in criminology.
