Redhawks Take Longest Roadtrip of Regular Season to Louisiana Tech: Following a tough weekend for Seattle University women’s soccer (7-7-1, 2-2-1), including a battle for first place in the conference versus Utah State, the Redhawks currently sit at fourth place in the latest Western Athletic Conference standings. The team will make their longest roadtrip of the regular season this weekend, traveling nearly 2,500 miles from Seattle to Ruston, La. for their first meeting with the Lady Techsters on Friday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. PT.

Leaders of the WAC:
After nine weeks of competition, as a team, the Redhawks rank third in points (71), goals (25), goals per game (1.67), assists (21), assists per game (1.40), fourth in fewest goals allowed (19), lowest GAA (1.22), tied for fourth in shutouts (4), and fifth in shots (214). Individually, Stephanie Verdoia ranks tied for first in game-winning goals (3), and second in points (17), points per game (1.13), goals (8), and goals per game (0.53).  Brianna Smallidge ranks fifth in GAA (1.23). In WAC play, as a team, the Redhawks are tied for first in goals per game (2.00), rank second in points (28), goals (10), are tied for second in assists (8), rank third in assists per game (1.60), fourth in GAA (1.13), are tied for fourth in shutouts (1), and rank fifth in fewest goals allowed (6). Individually, in conference play, Verdoia leads the WAC in points (11), points per game (2.20), goals (5), goals per game (1.00), and is tied for first in game-winning goals (1). Julia Moravec is also tied for first in game-winning goals (1) in WAC matches. In conference play, Smallidge ranks fourth in GAA (1.13).

Scouting Louisiana Tech: The Lady Techsters are ranked second in the WAC going into this weekend’s contest, with a 12-1-3 overall record and 3-0-1 conference record. Junior Emily Brennan leads the team with seven goals, 14 points, and 36 shots, and freshman Laura LeFevour leads with five assists. In goal, freshman Corina Brown has recorded a 6-1-1 record, with 24 saves and six shutouts, and junior Caitlin Updyke has recorded a 6-0-1 record, with 27 saves and five shutouts. Head coach Kevin Sherry is in his sixth season at the helm.

Last Time Out: This will be the first ever meeting between Louisiana Tech and Seattle University.
