He helped lead the squad to the league and district playoffs both his junior and senior years, and earned First Team All-League as an outfielder as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Brand also swam on the varsity swim team senior year, helping the squad win the state championship.

Personal: Full name Austen Patrick Brand. Parents are Esperanza and Patrick Brand, and he has an older brother named Zachary. Brand is a civil engineering major and wants to be a structural engineer after graduation.
