2012-13: At MPSF Championships Feb. 20-23,  swam second leg of 200 medley relay in 26.65 (relay time 1:34.19) ... swam 200 yard individual medley in 1:56.56 ... swam 100 yard breaststroke in 59.16 ... swam 200 yard breast in 2:07.76.

At Simon Fraser Feb. 2, took fourth in 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:09.65 ... swam 200 meter individual medley in 2:18.01.

On Jan. 18-19, Wheeler swam second leg in 400 yard medley relay in 1:03.97 (relay time 3:44.48) ... swam 200 yard IM in 2:06.91 ... swam 200 yard backstroke in 2:18.72 ... swam second leg of 200 yard medley relay in 28.44 (relay time 1:39.87) ... swam 50 yard freestyle in 23.48 ... and swam 100 yard breaststroke in 1:02.34

On Nov 30 to Dec 2, Wheeler swam the 200 yard Breastroke preliminaries with a time of 2:10.18, finished 25th ... took the 200 yard Breastroke final in 2:11.56, finished 23rd ... anchored the 100 yard Breastroke in 1:00.68, took 47th ... finished the 200 yard Medley Relay in 1:36.27, taking 14th ... swam the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:00.60, placing 79th.

Versus British Columbia Nov 17, Wheeler swam second leg in the 400 yard Medley Relay (relay time 3:41.03) ... finished the 100 yard Freestyle in 50.40.

Versus Simon Fraser Nov. 10, Wheeler swam second leg of third-place 400 yard Medley Relay in 1:02.55 (relay time of 3:37.39) ... finished the 200 yard IM in 2:02.81, taking fifth place ... swam 200 yard Breastroke in 2:15.32, finishing in 4th ...

At CSU Bakersfield Oct. 20, Wheeler finished the 100 yard breast in 1:03.54 and ranked sixth ... took seventh in 50 yard Freestyle with time of 23.45 ... finished fifth in 200 yard Breast, swimming in 2:16.91.

High School: Wheeler swam varsity for four years at Round Rock High school. He qualified for regional all four years for the Dragons, and swam at the state championships sophomore year. He was named to the All-State 200 Freestyle Relay team sophomore year and All-State 400 Freestyle Relay team senior year. He was also named the team's Most Spirited Swimmer in 2010-11 and Most Valuable Swimmer in 2011-12. Wheeler also played water polo for Round Rock, helping the team qualify for regionals and being named an All-Region player. Away from the pool, Wheeler was named to the Academic Honor Roll, President of Mu Alpha Theta, and a National Honor Society Member.

Club Experience: Wheeler swam for the Lone Star Aquatic Club for five years. He was named the club's Most Improved Swimmer in 2010-11, Most Valuable Swimmer in 2011-12, and he was awarded the Team Leadership Award in 2011-12 as well.

Personal: Full name Gabriel Andrew Wheeler. Parents are Melissa and Keith Wheeler, and he has two older siblings named Darcy and Wesley who are both collegiate swimmers. Wheeler is an environmental engineering major and loves visiting national parks and hiking.
