2012-13: At WAC Championships Feb. 27 to March 2, Gehrke took 13th in 400 yard individual medley with finals time of 4:28.28 (preliminary time 4:28.02) ... swam lead leg of 800 yard freestyle relay in 2:00.09 (relay time 7:48.55) ... swam 500 yard freestyle in 5:07.34 ... swam 1650 yard freestyle in 17:22.23.

On Jan. 18-19, Gehrke swam 200 yard IM in 2:22.92 ... took fourth in 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:32.07 ... took second in 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:02.29 ... took second in 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:26.65 ... and swam second leg for fourth place 400 yard freestyle relay in 59.60 (relay time 3:59.13)

Versus Whitworth on Jan. 12, Gerhke won 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:37.06 ... touched the wall second in the 400 yard IM with a mark of 4:38.83.

On Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, Gehrke swam the 200 yard Butterfly in 2:13.56, taking 52nd ... took the 400 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:48.06, placed 49th ... finished the 400 yard IM final in 4:34.20, taking 23rd ... swam the 400 yard IM preliminaries with a time of 4:32.39, finished 19th ... took the 800 yard Freestyle Relay with the team in 8:02.57, finished 30th ... anchored 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 5:04.55, finished 17th ... swam the 500 yard Freestyle final in 5.07.94, placed 23rd.

Versus Simon Fraser Nov. 10, Gehrke won the 500 yard freestyle, swimming in 5:15.68 ... took fifth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.87 ... swam the second leg of the third-place 400 free relay in 58.99 (relay time of 3:50.08).

At CSU Bakersfield Oct. 22, Gehrke swam the 200 yard Freestyle with a relay of 2:03.07, taking seventh ... finished the 500 yard Freestyle in 5:16.35, taking third.

At Idaho Oct. 13, took third in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.83 ... swam 200 IM in 2:20.45.

At Washington State Oct. 12, Gehrke won the 1000 yard Freestyle with a time of 10:42.13 ... swam the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:44.14, taking fourth place.

2011-12: At Boise State (Oct. 14-15), swam 500 yard in 5:21.60, taking 10th ... completed 200 IM in 2:20.41 ... swam lead leg of 400 free relay in 59.10 (relay time of 3:56.58).

At Oregon State University on October 29, placed fifth in the 200 yard Freestyle with a time of 2:01.67... swam the 100 yard Backstroke in 1:11.53...took third in the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 5:17.43... swam in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay with a relay time of 1:46.30.

In a meet at the University of the Pacific, on Nov. 4-5, Gehrke took 5th in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 18:06.92... swam the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:32.08...placed 7th in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a relay time of 1:49.07... On Nov. 5, she took 7th in the 200 Freestyle in 2:02.17...placed 4th in the 500 Freestyle in 5:24.29...competed in the 200 IM with a time of 2:25.27...swam the 400 Freestyle Relay with a relay time of 4:04.18.

At the University of Denver on November 12, Gehrke finished sixteenth in the 200 Individual medley in 2:19.59 ... finished the 500 Freestyle in 5:23.09, coming in tenth ... finished on the sixth place team in the 400 Freestyle relay (relay time of 3:53.68). 

In a home meet versus Boise State Nov. 19, Gehrke swam 100 yard free in 57.46 ... the 100 breast in 1:12.94 ... participated in 400 IM.

At Husky Invitational (Dec. 2-4), Gehrke took 20th overall in the 400 individual medley with a finals time of 4:36.32.

In dual meet versus Simon Fraser (Jan. 20), took second in 500 yard freestyle with tme of 5:13.94 ... swam third leg of third-place 200 free relay in 26.66 (relay time 1:45.18) ... swam 200 IM in 2:11.04.

In home meet versus Simon Fraser and Washington State (Jan. 21), took fourth in 400 yard IM with time of 4:38.12 ... swam 100 breast in 1:11.19.

At Nevada Jan. 28, took fourth in 200 yard individual medley with time of 2:14.63 ...  swam 500 free in 5:26.55, swam anchor leg of 400 free relay in 59.82 (relay time 4:00.29).

At MPSF Championships Feb. 15-18, swam 400 yard individual medley in 4:26.16 during bonus final (preliminary time 4:34.79) ... swam anchor leg of 800 free relay in 1:57.05 (relay time 7:55.19).

High School: Gehrke was a three year letterwinner at Shorewood High School.  She was named All-Conference in the 100 breaststroke or 200 medley relay, and she made the All-District team three times.  She went to the state finals three times as well.  In addition to the swim team, Gehrke was a member of the National Honor Society, DECA, Students Engaging in Real Volunteer Experiences Club, Raising Student Voice and Participation Leadership Team, and a LINK Leader.  

Club Experience: Gehrke swam with West Coast Aquatics from 2007 to 2011 and the Bellevue Club Swim Team in 2011.  She helped the Bellevue Club place second at the 2011 Pacific Northwest Swimming Long Course Championships and swam at the 2011 Auston Grand Prix with West Coast Aquatics.  She is a scholastic All-WEST 2010 two-time record holder in the 50 meter and 200 meter breaststroke, qualified for many senior section races, and was a finalist in the 2007 and 2008 Western Zone Finals. 

Personal: Full name Bethany Allison Gehrke.  Her parents are Barb and Curtise Gehrke, and she has an older sibling named Kyle.  Her aunt, Laura Bryce, played softball at the University of Southern California.  Gehrke is majoring in nursing and would like to be a neonatal nurse practitioner at Seattle Children's Hospital.  She started swimming to strengthen her lungs after surviving pneumonia and whooping cough as a newborn.  She is a Ronald McDonald House volunteer, and also enjoys running, working out, and shopping.

On Oct. 22, Gehrke swam the 200 freestyle and finished eighth in 2:00.16 ... swam the 500 freestyle in 5:16.22, finishing sixth ... Swam the 200 individual in 2:15.32, finishing ninth of the bunch ... Swam in the ninth-place 400 freestyle relay team (relay time of 3:55.59).
