SEATTLE – (May 29) Cheri Lindsay has been named an Assistant Coach for the Seattle University volleyball program, Head Coach James Finely announced Thursday. Lindsay comes to Seattle U following coaching stints at Bethany College and Tiffin University.
“Cheri is a great addition to our volleyball staff,” said Finley. “She brings a well-rounded resume as a player, coach and administrator. Cheri will have an immediate impact on the success of our team, staff and culture. I am looking forward to working with her.”
Since 2015, Lindsay was the head coach at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., where she was responsible for all aspects of the program. She simultaneously worked as an adjunct professor in the school of Business and Athletics.
“I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable coaching staff lead by James Finley,” Lindsay said. “I’m excited to train such talented and enthusiastic athletes. I look forward to bringing Seattle University’s volleyball program the experience I have gained in my last seven years of coaching at the collegiate level and continue to expand my talent and expertise.”
From 2012-14, Lindsay served as an assistant coach at Tiffin University in Ohio. Additional coaching experience includes serving as the head coach for the U15 and U17 Black Swamp Volleyball Club teams.
Lindsay got her coaching start at Prairie View A&M University where she serves as a student coach from 2011-12. She played volleyball for the Panthers from 2008-11 while earning her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. She went on to earn a master’s in business administration from Tiffin University in 2013.
