SEATTLE – (Nov. 13) Seattle University women’s basketball has signed two student-athletes for its Class of 2018. Georgia Kehoe and Sarah Rahon will attend Seattle U next fall.
Kehoe is a 6-3 forward from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She was named MVP of the Brisbane Capitals and 2016 Lang Park MVP. Last season, Kehoe averaged 21 points per game, helping Stuartholme to a third-place finish in the QLD Championships. For her U-18 team, she helped her squad win gold as she led the team in scoring and rebounding.
“Georgia is long, lanky, and runs the floor with speed,” said Coach Suzy Barcomb. “Her size, left-handedness, and the variety of ways in which she can score will be an added bonus for our program. Georgia’s game fits well both offensively and defensively in our systems.”
Rahon, a 5-9 guard, hails from Orange, Calif. She plays at powerhouse Mater Dei, which has qualified for the state tournament two of the last three seasons. Rahon has also played for Cal Sparks EYBL, a top AAU squad.
“Sarah shoots the three-pointer with great accuracy,” said Barcomb. “She also has the ability to go off the bounce. Sarah spends extra time in the gym, weight room, and working on her speed to improve her overall game. She also possesses a very high basketball IQ.”
Rahon’s twin brother, Jack, has signed to play golf at Seattle U next fall.
Barcomb, in her second season at SU, took the Redhawks to the WAC Championship game and the WNIT last season.
Seattle U hits the road for the first time this season, playing UC Santa Barbara and Pepperdine this weekend.
