KANSAS CITY – (Oct. 8) Seattle University women’s soccer fell, 3-0, at Kansas City Sunday. The setback snaps the Redhawks’ 24-game WAC regular season unbeaten streak and their 15-game WAC regular season win streak.

“I thought we started the game pretty well,” said Coach Julie Woodward. “It was one of our better first halves we’ve had recently. (After their first goal), we were chasing the game. It was a game of opportunities and huge credit goes to UMKC for finishing theirs.”

The first half was back and forth, with both sides compiling opportunities. SU (5-7-1, 1-1-0 WAC) notched two shots and two corner kicks, while the hosts recorded four shots, including a free kick goal in the 26th minute.

The Roos (7-6-1, 2-0-0 WAC) tacked on two more goals in the second frame, picking up the home decision.

SU claimed five corner kicks to just one for the home side. Mackenzie Curry made two saves in net.

The Redhawks close the regular season with four of their last five games at Championship Field. Seattle U welcomes UTRGV on Thursday, Oct. 12, to open a three-game home stand.
